They were initially unable to help, but eventually I got someone competent and we worked on it together. We were unable to solve the problem during the initial session, but he contacted the Apple engineers and they came up with a workaround. I have copy-pasted our chat session below containing the workaround in its entirety, but I'll summarize it here:.

I am using an HP laptop with Windows 10, and download to transfer to my iPod. I tried calling Apple support late last night. I was on hold and then told due to high call volume I should leave my name and number. Then I had silence and a dial tone. Mar 26, AM. I used the e-mail route to report this problem to Apple support yesterday and received back a form e-mail saying that I would receive a reply from them within 48 hours.

I hope that everyone who is experiencing the inability to download podcasts will contact support via phone or e-mail so that they realize that it's a serious problem which needs to be fixed right away and can't be ignored. If you have an iCloud account, your podcast subscriptions, stations, and current play position sync to the Podcasts app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. In the iTunes app on your PC, choose Podcasts from the pop-up menu at the top left, then click Store. Click in the search field in the top-right corner of the iTunes window and enter a word or phrase. To preview an item before downloading it, move the pointer over the item, then click the Preview button.

In the iTunes app on your PC, choose Podcasts from the pop-up menu at the top left, then click Library. Update your podcast subscriptions: Select a podcast, then click Refresh near the bottom left of the window. All currently available episodes of the podcasts you subscribe to are displayed. If there was no WiFi the suscribed podcast would not download. That is probably why it was asking for WiFi, it hadn't downloaded yet.

It should be no accident this is the way you suscribe to a paticular podcast or download one of a series. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. I've subscribed to several podcasts on my windows phone last night, but when I tried to play them today they wouldn't play because they couldn't find a WiFi connection.

I would like for my phone to download the podcasts I'm subscribed to while I'm connected to WiFi and then be able to play them back regardless of whether I'm in WiFi range or not. Is this possible, or must I keep using my iPod? PS not sure if I got the phone version or model correct not sure how to figure that out PPS this page does not work in Chrome browser.
